The incumbent supervises students in theclassroom in the absence of the classroom teacher with the following
Responsibilities:
Attendance Taking, Behavior Monitoring, Assignment Monitoring,and Daily Record Monitoring.
Furthermore, the Teaching Assistant providesstudents with guidance in completing assignments left by the classroom teacherand to support classroom instruction as needed.
The incumbent is responsible for effectively managing the classroom.
Incumbentparticipates in faculty and professional meetings.
The Teaching Assistantreports directly to the School Principal and performs duties with minimalsupervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES TO BE PERFORMED WITH OR WITHOUT REASONABLEACCOMMODATION:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
o Following policy in critical incidents preventing injury, escape, or propertydamage.
o Maintains confidentiality.
o Incumbent supervises the daily work of students and evaluates the achievementof individual student knowledge.
o Operates all job-related equipment.
o Collaborates with other departments in order to enhance the learningenvironment of students.
o Providing written reports to/participates in multidisciplinary treatment team.
o Attending and successfully completing all required training andcertifications.
o Developing and reviewing clear, accurate, and concise reports that are incompliance with departmental policies and procedures.
o Promoting good working relationship with students, staff, contractualpersonnel, interns and volunteers, and applicable community public or privateagencies.
o Maintaining a positive image to the public in all related responsibilities.
o Performs related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DIFFICULTY OF WORK WITH OR WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONMAY INCLUDE:
o Ability to implement daily and weekly teacher lesson plans designed to enforcefull course objectives in the absence of an educator.
o Ability to create and provide a positive learning environment conducive to andsupportive of individual growth and development of students.
o Ability to maintain and control educational department supplies, equipment,and tools.
o Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written.
o Ability to work effectively in a teamwork environment.
o Ability to accept supervision and constructive feedback.
o Ability to test negative on all drug tests.
o Ability to successfully complete all required training and certifications.
